PRESS RELEASE

Exciting, Hip and Extra Juicy! The newest guilty pleasure to the Upstate and Western North Carolina is about to be unleashed.  WSPA News Channel 7 is preparing to launch an entertainment evening show that will be the first of its kind in this area. The program will be produced daily from our High Definition studios in Downtown Greenville from Michelin on Main. Hosted by Your Carolina personality Kimberly Kelly, Scene on 7 will be a rapid fire of entertainment headlines, hot internet video, and events happening locally.  It’s all about what you are talking about and what you are doing. Music, festivals, movies, and anything happening that our viewers would want to know about is all fair game with this show. “Scene on 7 will amp up News Channel 7’s connection with a viewing area so rich with interesting people, positive stories, and creative events. These stories need a home. Scene on 7 will allow us to cover them, plus touch on hot local and national topics," says WSPA General Manager Phil Lane.

WSPA News Channel 7 is working with fifteen graphic artists to develop Scene on 7’s innovative look, including virtual sets and fast-paced graphics. A local producer with ties to the west coast entertainment scene was also hired to give the show an edgy direction. You won’t just watch this show; you will be a part of it. The Scene on 7 crew will hit the streets to allow viewers to share their opinions on hot button issues. Scene on 7 host Kimberly Kelly says, “I truly believe that this will be a show that the community will be proud of, get behind, and be a part of.”

Scene on 7 is developing strong partnerships in the community with local radio stations, entertainment venues, and retailers to bring you everything that is hot in our community. “People have been blown away by the plans. I can’t wait for people to see where we’re taking local TV. Everyone is a part of this show... I’m just the lucky facilitator,” says host Kimberly Kelly.

Scene on 7 is the second locally produced show launched by WSPA News Channel 7 as part of our commitment to innovation and highlight our community. Lane says, “the tremendous successes of Your Carolina has sparked our interest in other opportunities…and teaches us that we have barely scratched the surface regarding local news, events, and stories in our community.”
