STAFF REPORTS
Greenville’s Elite turned out Thursday night for a sneak peek of the High Cotton restaurant at RiverPlace downtown.

The 10,000-square-foot, multi-level restaurant, which opens to the public on Monday, has 38-foot ceilings and glass walls showing the Reedy River and Greenville skyline. High Cotton’s features include two elevators and private dining rooms that can be sealed off by glass panels with a touch of a button.

Principal owner is Charleston restaurateur Dick Elliott, a former journalist, lawyer and president of the commercial carpet division of textiles giant Burlington Industries.

Members of the “Leatherheads” cast dashed out on a rainy night to attend.

“I think it’s exciting,” said actress Renee Zellweger, the football movie’s female lead. “I get to see all my friends.”

“Basically, I like the atmosphere,” said Thomas Cheves, also a cast member.
